WIFI hotspot at Kuta beach

Our Balinese friend has sent me a message that now we can bring our laptop to the (Kuta ) beach and browse the internet out there , because Indonesian telecom has built an hotspot on the area with the coverage as far as about 2 km..
Anyone who are now in Bali could give some confirmation ?
