Hi all,

I don't mean to bore you and I have browsed past posts on vaccinations, but just wanted to get some advice on what precautions I need to take for a short trip and a specific area.

I'll be in Ubud for 2 weeks in September. Only my Hep A & B shots are up to date. I'm thinking about taking the typhoid tablets (as I had a nasty reaction to the shot when I had it five years ago and I hear the tablets give longer immunity?) My last tetanus & diptheria shot was a booster 10 years ago when I was 15 and I had the polio vaccine at the same time. I'm wary of the malaria meds I've heard about because of the photosensitivity and bad dreams.

Basically I'm planning on getting vaccinated against typhoid but just wanted to hear opinions on whether I should get re-immunised against tetanus and what people think about malaria precautions for a 2 week trip in Ubub. Is DEET etc enough?

Cheers,
C.
