Thanks to the BTF we bought an electric Gibson ES335 copy,from Korea I think,(AUD200 with new strings that were restrung while we waited)and a good quality Yamaha acoustic (AUD100) from King Audio in April. King Audio had cheaper acoustics but they were pretty much rubbish. Have had our local guitar setup guy go over them and they are now playing really well. A similar Yamaha here is about AUD300 whereas a REAL Gibson is more like AUD4500. The shop is only small and we didn't find the owner very helpful, but he has a few "assistants" who play in hotel bands who were good to deal with. It's a bit of pot luck but if you have a good idea of what you want, they will probably be able to look after you.
