have stayed all along there in the last 4 years and there are some GREAT restaurants close by.
Try....
past MBR on your right (towards Kuta) there is the Bamboo Cnr, then further along you will come across Warung Yogya and Legian Snacks and then across the road and upstairs is La Monde.
Turning left out of your hotel around the dog leg is The Coffee Shop and across the road Poco Loco then into Rum Jungle Rd on your left you have The Flying piano and Yutz, across the road there is the Sawadeeka (SP?) Thai and then a fair way up is Tommy's Cafe (breakkie and lunch only ).
Heading out of your hotel on the beach front there is a strip of some of the best restaurants, Zanzibar is a fave and Seaside also.Believe me you will not be dissapointed with the restaurants.!!
As far as money changers go there is a Tour Desk shop across from the Puri Raja in between two clothing stalls and the lady AYU is very honest and friendly too.She has long dark hair and wears red lippy !!
In Rum Jungle Rd a long way up towards Legian St there is a bank which you will find you get the best rate and it is an official bank so no worries about being ripped off I wouldnt think. Also heading along Padma Utara up near the Warung Yogya there is a money changer in a glass fronted shop and they have always been good too.
Hope this helps and PLEASE do a JBR on the Sari Beach for us when you get home TA.
