Baiyoke Sky, which was only marginally more expensive than its sister concern down the road named Baiyoke Suite.
The Baiyoke Sky has a revolving gallery (the highest point in Bangkok) from which one can view Bangkok in all its glory.
Baiyoke Sky also has a gourmet Chinese restaurant on one of the top floors....superb view, discreet lighting, excellent service and sumptuous Peking Duck :-) Their pork spare ribs are also to die for.
Yes, the Hilton, Hua Hin and the Holiday Inn, Phuket are amongst the best value-for-money hotels I have ever stayed in. Simply brilliant.
Unimaginably cheap for what you get. Are you acquainted with the Four Points by Sheraton at Darling Harbour, Sydney ??? We spent 7 nights there in April, 2006. We paid 280 Aussie Dollars/night, buffet breakfast included and while the place was excellent, it wasn't half as good as the above 2 hotels I mentioned. No kidding.
Cheers Sue !!
