You'd be better off buying a local sim card. Some have really cheap international rates. I phoned home every day for a week on an XL card and it cost me less than $10 Australian.
Check first that your phone is not locked to Vodafone before you try using an Indonesian sim.
If your phone is locked you could always buy a secondhand phone in Bali. They are fairly cheap, but you need to shop around.
