Im sorry your holiday wasnt what you expected.
My first trip overseas was to Malaysia. I suffered a serious culture shock and couldnt get home fast enough. And i would have to say that Malaysia is nothing on Bali. But having traveled heaps before my first trip to Bali it didnt have the effect it otherwise would have. Research and travel brochures dont always match the perception you have on your destination.
I can understand your frustration at the bargaining etc and at times has even driven me to distraction.
I for one would never call Bali paradise. To me its just a cheap holiday and thats all it will ever be to me. But i know the pitfalls and accept them. But others it is paradise so thus its in the eye of the beholder.
Hopefully your next trip will be everything you expected.
