prepared to make public statements about the fact that there is a real and imminent threat then he should UPGRADE... Why come out and say all of this in the media if all that DFAT carries is an UPDATE. We see that every few weeks.
Pretty big difference that the media continually overlook and under report. This is what frightens your average traveller as they don't discern the difference.
If they are perpared to cost the Balinese more in lost revenue but not actually upgrade then I think they are very wrong. I really think it's all about the fact that the socceroos will be there shortly and Mr Howard is taking no chances.
I also think that in light of the connection with the Doctors and the London bombings that they are just going overkill in every area now.
I'm all for security but how about a warning on London... that's where all the action is right now. There have been 16 Travel Warnings issued this week by DFAT yet only one makes the media.
I hope and pray it's all a storm in a tea cup and one never knows. Are they just going to leave the warning on for ever and hope that in the event something does happen that they can say we told you... Sounds like the boy has cried wolf way too long now and not many people are taking too mcuh notice. Thats the real worry I guess.
Maybe when they have something we'll get that actual upgrade...
Safe and Happy Travels everyone - even Bali Geeks and you know who you are....
