Sometimes its the fear of the panic attack itself( having one ) and not the actual situation your in. You associate panic attacks often by where you had them. Why wouldnt you - their extremely , well
bl **dy awfull.

I suffer this when driving a car on the Highway. I still drive but not on highways. Still stuggle to differentiate the assoc.but I eventually will.

Went through a period of two years where I couldnt fly, just like you.
I got medication first up - but then felt the same, didnt want to be "drugged" out.

I havent had a problem now for quite a few years. I try to keep some "mental control" but accept that it may happen and not be so hard on myself.

As I walk down the tunnel I would say to myslef get me on here.
Then I remember sitting down - doors shut well thats it aint no way out now til my destination. Then I would think am I better to feel emotional pain for an hour or two or sit in a bloody car driving thousands of miles day after day. Nah I want to get there quick.

The idea is to distract your mind, read, turn the music up talk to the stranger next to you til their ears fall off. ( so what if your a pain .. anything to get u through it ) Actually our Forumite COLLEEN would be good at that.

Then a glass of wine or so is a nice relaxant.

Didnt mean to right a book. But hope this is of help.
