Munggu, a (long) village off the main road between Canggu and Tanah Lot is renown for, and excels in Ogoh ogoh building.
Take a right at the big Seseh/Munggu intersection. Theres a huge ficcus (fichus?) tree where the satay sellers are. Difficult to miss. Veer right again about 150 meters up the road, and check out each banjar.
There are probably 10 banjar along the road through and as many again in the back streets.
Each year the competition between these banjar gets stiffer and more outrageous.
I've never been there the night before Nyepi, but usually take my kids and a camera a couple of days prior to it.
Talk about imagination!
I'm assuming the plural of banjar is banjar? Or should I translate it direct IE; banjar-banjar?
