substance (had actually copied same one but didn't have time to "paste" into post here) gets NO responses yet the "re-invention" of the Australian DFAT "ADVISORY" - level of which has NOT changed since October 2002, starts nothing short of a "feeding-frenzy"!

If you go back over the past 20 or so DFAT "Advisories" you will find that changes are minimal and in most cases "area specific" and usually relating to a far-flung Province.

Central Sulawesi is considered a "hot bed" for potential terrorist cells yet in North Sulawesi, where I now reside, the "T" word isn't even in the local vocabulary.

Indonesia is a huge archipelago, yet it is ALL lumped-into the ONE "Travel Advisory" for Australian Residents.

People should cast their minds over the many Countries where there have actually been instances of terrorist attacks recently, and compare the level attributed to them by Australian Authorities to that for Indonesia - "including Bali".

The Indonesian Government should be applauded for what they have done - with assistance from key Australian personnel, specialists in this field - to reign-in J.I. and arrest key figures. How many J.I. leaders have moved-on to escape the pressure in Indonesia to "safer" (for them at least) places like Philippines or Southern Thailand?
