Novotel ND for a week out of our month in Bali. It's a beautiful, brand spanking new property adn we loved our stay there. We had a beautiful suite (2 beds, lounge, dining, kitchen, large deck) and it was really comfortable. The breakfast is very pricey & there are plenty of places around that will pick you up & drop you back & offer much better value for money. Several restaurants are within very easy walking distance (just around the corner, actually!) - I just loved the mushroon risotto at 'Tropical' - the first restaurant you come to after walking out the Novotel entrance and then left out of the Nusa Dua south gate (maybe 5 mins walk). If you walk past this row of restaurants before heading in they'll usually give you a 20% off discount card & offers of free garlic bread or free dessert for the kids, etc. Down past these restaurants there is a row of market type shops & other shops which are ever so slightly more expensive than those in Kuta, and without the full range you find in Kuta, but worth a look. There are also plenty of restaurants just up the road in Tanjung Benoa which are happy to pick you up & drop you off. The front desk can call one of them for you, then after your first dinner you can wander up the street & get numbers for others that might interest you. Although we didn't eat at the restaurant in the resort we found room service very reasonably priced and the helpings were a good size, especially for the price. I'm not sure of the exact fixed fare from the airport (we came from Sanur) but I thinks it'd be about 70,000. It's a bit less than that in each direction to get to/from Kuta in a Bluebird taxi. Hope this helps. Cheers, Sue.
