Hi Helen. A difficult one to answer, as we enjoyed the different aspects of each. As I'm undergoing medical treatment that's affecting my feet, we chose to stay close to different locations. In this respect, all five hotels were equally good.
Which one we enjoyed most? Probably the Padma because of the Club facilities, including being able to access the internet without leaving the hotel grounds. The grounds are beautiful and there are plenty of lounges around the pool. We never had a problem finding chairs in a shady spot.
If the Club facilities had not been included at the Padma, I would say the Niksoma, as it's a small hotel with extremely friendly staff. I take your point about the stairs around the pool, but we did not find these too much of a problem. As my husband is visually impaired, we have to approach all stairs with extreme caution whether it is raining or not.
At the KP we stayed ground floor A block and did not notice any external noise. So perhaps you could ask for this block if you are thinking of staying there again. Our room was the closest one to the swimming pool and we had a huge stone wall behind us.
Choosing one's hotel is always a difficult choice! I guess that's one of the reasons we stayed in them all on this trip. Hope this helps a little. Regards.
