because you left it in the machine the next person who entered would have pressed the button to say they wanted to do another transaction and went ahead and drew as much as you limit was for a day. Well at least i think that what has happened but most of the ATM's don't allow this to happen with foreign cards anymore and each transaction you have to enter another pin number
