Hi Stormy. I personally would not worry about being alone in a downstairs suite at the Casa Padma. As the rooms face the reception area, you can feel quite comfortable about safety. This hotel is used by a number of people travelling alone on business. When you sit outside the ground floor suites, you feel as though you are sitting around the swimming pool.
We enjoyed our stay at this hotel, as we did last year. I think it really is a good hotel when you are by yourself, as the suite is very comfortable to relax in if you don't want to go out. The lighting is good and the sitting area very comfortable.
As for their special offer, we were told it was book two nights and get the third one free.
My personal opinion is that the bathroom is quite acceptable. It is very spacious. The hand basin is one of those freestanding bowls. The bath is fine, with a hand shower above it, handy when you want to wash your feet. The shower space is adequate. Our room (101) had no shower curtain, but this didn't worry us as a lot of the Balinese bathrooms have this 'splashing' problem. Nothing the floor mat won't absorb. The problem with the 'black' tiles is that they were painted black and are looking a little bit worse for wear, but this did not worry us at all.
When are you planning to go? You could make the booking and if you don't like it, just check out. They are very nice and make no fuss about cancellations.
Good luck with your decision!
