Independence Day celebration

We will be arriving Bali on the 16th and I heard that the 17th of August is a big holiday - Independence Day. We would love to see the parade/celebration and wonder whether we have to go to Denpasar or perhaps we could catch it in Kuta as well... Any suggestions for some great viewing spots/times? Thanks!
