Hi we were up in Ubud for 4 nights last week and ate at some great restaurants - Cafe Wayan, Cinta Grill, Cafe Lotus, Nomad's (twice!), and Murni's Warung (my partner rated the Babi Galung one of the best meals in 14 days in Bali) which were all really nice and faultless. But by far the best restaurant we found was a place called the Tropical Bale up on Jl Raya Sanggingan next door to Kori Resort. I saw another Forumite mention this place so we decided to give it a try and now I cannot sing the praises of this restaurant highly enough. We went there 2 days in a row for lunch and it's lucky that we didn't discover it when we first got to Ubud as I probably wouldn't have wanted to eat anywhere else the whole time up there! They do a set 2 course lunch menu for 75,000 rp and I rate it as the best meal I had in 2 weeks in Bali and considering I also ate at both the Living Room and La Lucciola that must be saying something! The serves are not huge but the flavours and presentation are absolutely exquisite and the service was 5 star along with a great outlook onto the rice paddies. They will come and pick you up from your hotel and drop you back if you give them a call. I think they also do a 2 course dinner for 150,000 rp which unfortunately we didn't get to try but next time definitely. Hope that helps!
