We have 500Rs, 100Rs, 50Rs, 20Rs, 10Rs, 5Rs notes commonly in circulation. Coins are 1Rs and 0.50p Smaller coins are off virtually no value...no one accepts them.

You will find food in Bombay deliciously tasty and dirt cheap, just as you will find hotel accomodation expensive.

More later. Btw, Fiona, we are off to Holland, Belgium, Luxembourg and Switzerland and are returning on the 16th of August. After that, we don't have any holidays planned till December :-)
