Hi kimac,
Stayed at the Conrad Bali for five nights in November 2006 and all I can say is WOW!
It's a very large hotel, not only in number of rooms but overall size but this works in it's advantage as you do get a sense of space.
As for the facilities it is luxury all the way from the rooms (the beds and baths are amazing), restaurants (breakfast overlooking the pool) and the highlight of them all the best pool in the world (you can spend 2 hours swimming around it's edge).
As for restaurants there are a number of good quality mid to low cost restaurants along Jl Pratama with the better ones being Coco Bistro, La Scala, Casa Luna, Bumbu Bali and the Nelayan. These are all a stroll from the hotel and it's best to walk along the beach path then head through one of the other resorts onto the street as it can be a bit scary with the road being so thin and no pavement in sections.
While it will set you back a little, the restaurant by the beach which does great BBQ seafood and meats is worth a big night out right on the beach.
All up would have no hesitation staying at the Conrad again funds permitting.
