have a lot to do today before getting back to work tomorrow (big sigh)but hey that means saving for another holiday. Have been to the dentist and the optician since i got back, yes i could have had a filling and new glasses in Bali but i'm a woose and still like to do all these things locally.
Anyway off we went to explore. The Padma is a big hotel set in lovely grounds. I have heard many people saying its such a walk to the pool area etc. To be honest on holiday we always walk a lot so like a few mins walk to get to brekkie or the pool is not a big deal.
Looking round i liked our room but preferred other rooms overlooking the gardens, we had a small sort of garden outside our room with nice plants separating us from a path and a big brush fence. On saying that everyone said hello that walked past mainly staff to be honest but it was so hot that we didn't really spend much time outside.
The pool is lovely, lots of loungers and yes even the fact that the hotel was quiet people still had towels on loungers at the crack of dawn (WHY) we lay at the pool for a few days and some of these people did not take their beds till after lunch time which i think is just rubbish. And yes on these days i was just reading my book and( people watching )my favourite pastime and what is wrong with that.
Anyway after looking round the hotel went out via the pool area onto the street beachside and started walking, we walked past all the taxis (big mistake) to venture on our own along the street, Having never stayed in Legian before we thought we'll find a bar for that first bintang, passed a lot of hotels sweating, thought there would be shops, apart from a CircleK didn't find a bar, hubbie not so happy but after a long walk and weat pouring of us got to the heart of things, Poppies lane 2 and down to Bagus (now i pronounce this as BAYGUS but i have been informed it is actually Baygoose) comments please! but sweating profusely we ordered our first icy cold bintangs and they went down an absolute treat.
The second one also great and our waitress sat down with us for a chat, i seen her looking at what i thought was my chain with a ceylonese sapphire in it round my neck and said to her "Do you like my chain," so proud as my daughter had bought me it, however she just said no and then put her hand on my right boob and said "Have you had needle" Honestly what a laugh, once i got over the initial embarrasment of having my boob size discussed in a bar it really was funny. She was not convinced that i had not had the "needle" but i would like to tell you that i am not Pamela Anderson by any means
but good bras (obviously) can do great things and as i told her great things come in small packages. A few bintangs later and off we headed back to our hotel and thinking about where we are going to eat for dinner.
Off to pick up my new glasses.
