"As far as money changers go - we used the same Kodak one we have always used (kinda opposite Jayakarta) and he was as reliable as ever but on almost our last day we went to change a larger amount to pay the tailor and he said he didn't have enough money and to come back later and he would have some money. When we tried to change a smaller amount we got the same story. Anyway he saw us out of the shop and we headed up the road and as we were walking I suggested that it might be easier to just ATM the money and deposit the cash into our account on our return - so we turned back heading for the ATM to find the guy rubbing out the NZ exchange rate and lowering it !! Seeing us return he at least he had the grace to look shamefaced but as you might guess we didn't change money with him again !!"
