Last trip to bali we hired a car for 10 days and did the trip around bali. We found it fun just to explore on our own stopping when we found something we liked the look of. It is much cheaper if you rent for a week than hiring a driver.We always use the same hire car rental and it cost us around 150000/day including insurance upgrade.(get a international licence)$25 in the post office.
If you drive I would reccomend you have a look around the Ahmed area very beautiful dramatic coastline and coral just of the shore well worth a couple of days. We were disapointed in lovina but the dolphin trip in the morning was good. A pod of around 100 dolphins as the sun rose over the volcano.Happy travels Rochelle
