Can anyone PLEASE suggest where I might get wheelchair accessible accommodation in or around the Ubud area & again, in North Bali, or some far flung village.

I have stayed in the Legian Beach Hotel & the Nusa Dua Beach Spa & Hotel which were both equipped with modern levels of wheelchair access in there rooms & bathrooms but next trip I now want to travel further afield and really experience the backblocks of Bali later this year & I'd like to bring my little girl too (11yrs). I'm after the cultural experience, the people etc, & I'm getting a little fed up with having a one day radius of my accommodation, or as I put it, my safe house. I'm not too concerned with being by poolsides, the bar etc., so a budget place can be fine if it has air conditioning.

Just to elaborate - I have a reasonably wide standard type fold-up wheelchair & I need to be able to get through the doorways with a minimum of 740mm (74cm) clearance. Key access issues - getting into the room, onto a bed, access into the bathroom - preferably with a wheel-in shower area (No can stand). Access to restaurant, etc is a bonus. Others ask for bread, I just ask for crumbs : )

Incidentally, I would recommend the Legian Beach Hotel http://www.legianbeachbali.com/ & the Nusa Dua Beach Hotel http://www.nusaduahotel.com/

P.S. I have been trawling the internet for places to stay & sending emails to a number of places on this matter over the last 12 months - not luck! Help!
