We had 2 in our rooms last year when we stayed at the Le Meridian. They were there to greet us every night when we came home from dinner until husband and teenage son had to remove them to the balcony on request of terrified teenage girl. The apartment had many traditional Balinese artefacts and statue things around and the first night when I saw the gecko on the wall above my bed I thought it was an ornament until it moved slightly. After we put them out on the balcony they did not return inside but we saw them every night outside and we could definatley hear them, they are quite noisy. We did think they were harmless and a little "cute"but preferred them to live outside.
