My Friends and I took our children to turtle island in 2005.
Had a most enjoyable time but what followed a day or so later was horrible for them!
Yes you can go in the water with the turtles, but on reflection of the condition of the water I would never do it again!!!!
The water and enclosure are surrounded by mangrove type trees and it is quite cloudy and I believe full of unfriendly bacteria.
There were 8 of us on this trip.
The three who went into the water with the turtles were as sick as sick can be with Bali Belly a day or so following.
Had to get the doctor for 2 of them and this really spoilt their holiday as it took quite a few days to recover.
To the point where my then 8yr old said he never wanted to go to Bali again!! (Has been back since though).
Those who didnt go in the water were fine.
Too many "floaties" in the harbour water out that way.
So NEVER AGAIN for us. Make your own decision!
