Old neckalce re-made?

I have a very old necklace made of crystal type beads that belongs to an elderly friend.
She wants to keep it for sentimental reasons and it needs a new clasp......but I suggested having it re threaded with some new stones or pearls bought and added to it somehow so she could wear it.
Any ideas where I can get this done?I imagine in the markets somewhere.....
