I combined these two last July. Whole family went up to Bali on a package with Garuda. My husband & 2 sons came back and I had booked to come back a few days later. I organised my own arrangements up & back to Sing. You may be looking at the deals that combine the two but I think they weren't avail when I went in July, peak holiday period or maybe it was too expensive or maybe my travel agent couldn't be bothered! I booked online with Valuair. All the others were much dearer. Had flown with them the year before when they were doing Perth - Sing for a while. They go up & back 4 x week bet Den & Sing. Basic airline but they were fine. I was due to fly back into Bali with about 2:45mins bet connections. I was confused as to whether I had to clear customs again, pay VOA and then Dep tax to go again. Never found out. Plane had trouble after t/off from Sing and had to go back. Ex Ansett pilot who said this had only ever happened once before. I was actually happy that even tho a budget airline, money was not an issue in regards to safety. They had to burn off fuel for 2hrs before going back. They also refunded those of us who chose to get off in Sing instead of travelling in a few hours. I had missed my connection back to Perth and Garuda would not put me on another flight, it obviously wasn't their fault, so with a small baby my ins co told me to get a direct flight back home from Sing which I did with Sing A/lines (they also had a small hitch with a missed approach landing in Perth - boy was I glad to get back on the ground). Was fully reimbursed by my ins co which was great. Am going to Bali in 7 wks but decided against doing it again. Tiger Airways has started out of Perth & am going up to Sing a couple of times later in the year. $290 rtn which is so cheap! Hope this is of some help to you.
