Loved your post! below a few of my Observations on the "Game":-
1. The "New, Airconditioned" Kijang is in reality a pre 1980 rust bucket with most internal door handles missing, an engine which develops as much power as a 1920's Model T Ford & the "Air Conditioning" consists of windows which require the strength of Hercules to open.
2. Which ever colour or style of shirt you want to buy is always "the best quality & most expensive. If you pick a white shirt, it is always dearer than the black one. If you pick a black one, it is always dearer than the white one.!!!
3. Amazing how taxi drivers are so disorganized with their money that it takes them 2 1/2 hours to find 50000rp change.
4. Purchase one of item A for 200000rp & then are immediately offered one or two more for 5000rp each. Subtle huh?
5. This is a "GENUINE" copy - hmmmmm!!
Mistakes that bali virgins can make:-
1. Not understanding that "maybe tomorrow" is a Legaly binding contract.
2. Not understanding that having a massage from two different beach ladies is punishable by death.
3. Saying no to the same watch seller 5 days in a row & then buying a copy watch somewhere else is also punishable by death.
4. Saying thank you in Indonesian to a waiter, gives him/her the right to join you & practise their english for the next 4 hours.
I guess the aboveis all part of the Bali charm & experiance.
