Jo this is terrible news. Unfortunately a recent Indo legislation has decreed that currency used on pre-July 2005 visits is no longer admissible for use now. How unlucky can you be!
Fortunately I know an Aussie chap now residing in Bali (friend of a friend) who has been meeting people like yourself on arrival in Bali and is willing to exchange your old money for new.
His fees are reasonable, particularly if you drink Bintang and you are assured of a stress free holiday in Bali knowing you will have no currency problems.
P.S. If you are extra lucky, you may get to see a Bali sunset and sunrise without leaving your seat.
