You never negotiate with bemo drivers. You just climb in, tell him where you want to go, and then pay him 2,000Rp per person when you climb out. We learned all this the hard way. If you're feeling really generous, you can give him some extra, but you really don't need to pay more than 2,000 per person for such a short trip. Duck man, sounds like you've been had.
