If the redlight image is not of a concern you will find that you are only a short stroll from what I think is the best beach area in Bali. Numerous good restaurants are also only a very short stroll away. For example the Cat & Fiddle, Mama Putus,The Trophy, Kesuma, Magos and Double Dutch can all be reached within a 6-7 minute walk. If you wander along the beach pathway you will come to Donalds Bobbies and Cemara Beach restaurants. They are all good beachfront restaurants. The centre of Sanur is only a $2 taxi fare away. Places like Bonsai, The Beach Cafe, Casa Luna, Jepun, The Ming, Bennos, Massimos,The Village, Clay Oven, Sindhu Markets etc plus more are within this $2 range.
To go to the northern areas of Sanur to restaurants such as Corridor is again only a $3 taxi ride away. I often take a taxi from the end of Jalan Sekar Waru to the Corridor Restaurant, they will wait and bring me home again.This is a 50,000 ($7)return fare.
