Have been travelling for most of my adult years, and have recently realised that I have become almost obsessed with researching my trips via the internet.Whereas before I (and I think many others)was content to book a hotel "sight unseen", now I trawl forums such as this one, look at fotos on community webshot pages etc etc and generally do as much research as possible.
I wonder if this is taking away the best part of travel;the joy of finding great places, hotels and things to do by chance or by accident.Does knowing beforehand your itinerary, your room, even where you plan to eat, detract from the overall travel experience?
