airline, as chickchili pointed out. There are safety differences between airlines and it's silly to close your eyes to that fact. Having said that, if you look at Garuda's safety record, you will notice two things - one, the age of the planes and two, the number of times fatal crashes occurred because pilots overshot the runway. EIther Garuda pilots are terrible or there is something wrong with a number of Indonesian airports. I think the explanation lies with the airports. It's well known that the runway in Jogjakarta is in the WRONG PLACE. Why? because Soeharto wanted it built near one of his houses. Thus does official corruption in Indonesia take its toll on peoples lives.
