Air Paradise has offered the Balinese Government a 51 per cent share in the carrier in a bid to raise the $35.5 million it needs to resume operations.

According to reports in Indonesia, and reported by Bali Discovery.com, API chairman I Made Wiranatha is willing to relinquish majority control for around $21.3m.

Wiranatha would retain 33 per cent and a Sri Lankan businessman the remaining 16 per cent.

Bali officials are said to be considering the proposal.

Air Paradise is eyeing a March re-launch should it secure financial backing and has outlined plans to fly to Australia and four Indonesian destinations.

'Bali needs an independent approach to its main tourists markets, especially now when the number of flights operating to Bali and extremely limited,' Wiranatha was reported as saying in the Indonesian language BisiBali.
