We stayed at the Barong in 2004 and stayed in a 2nd floor room overlooking the front pool. These are the old style rooms. The noise isn't too bad from Poppy's Lane 2 at all. The front pool closed at around 10pm I think and the back pool was 24 hour. The rooms around the back look a lot newer. The only noise we ever heard from from people singing karoeke at the Restaurant but that didn't seem to last too long. So my recommendation is if you want hardly any noise and don't mind older/smaller rooms then stay at the front and if you want newer style rooms and don't mind noise for a while then stay at the back.
