When we stayed in Ubud a couple of years ago we did lots of day trips. Do you want to explore the island or stay close to Ubud? Close by there is Goa Gajah, the elephants at Taro, lots of craft villages, rafting and lots more. If you fancy going a bit further Tampaksiring, Kintamani and the volcano crater are a great trip, or maybe Lake Bratan and then up to the hot springs.
