Like Marathonman a few topics down, I've stayed at Resor Prima a number of times and always enjoyed it. But it's been a long, long time since I've been responsible for keeping kids happy and occupied.I've not seen Resor Prima since the upgrade, but the management and staff are nice people and presumably that's not changed.

RP is about 10 minutes pleasant walk down a narrow sealed road, amongst the banana and coconut trees, from the Amlapura end of Candi Dasa main street. And it's right on a clean white sand beach, which is unfortunately now a rarity for Candi Dasa. A close in coral reef, with lots of fish, could keep the kids occupied if they're into snorkeling. Usually safe, as long as the waves aren't crashing over the breakwaters.

The fishing boats come in every morning next to RP and the fishing families will make you and your children welcome.

Just 2 minutes walk away is Warung Pini, owned and managed by Wayan, one of the nicest ladies you could ever meet. If you do decide to stay here, please say "Hello" to Wayan from Rex and Emiko. And a little shop for your water, Bintang and Coke etc. If they'e closed, go around the back and they'll open up, just for you.

A good driver operates out of Puri Oka, next to RD. Wayan Manek [Nick] 081 8353501. Plenty of not-so-far places to check out. Padang Bai, going south. And the Amed area going north, with both Ujung and Tirtagangga water palaces on the way. And just up the road, White Sand Beach is well worth a visit, before the inevitable developers move in.

Candi Dasa has a small, but adequate supermarket/variety store, a number of honest moneychangers and plenty of eating options, some of them with either Balinese dancing or not-too-loud rock-n-roll. And it's a nice little town just to wander around in.
