Hi all just thought I would post a quick JBR.
Sunday:
We left Perth on the 25/2 flew with Garuda ,flight left on time and food and service was the same as usual. Arrived on time and straight through VOA paid in aus dollars . We decided to walk from the airport so we could get a good fix of smells and sights quickly. We made it to the Discovery shopping center and down came the rain so we were stuck there for about an hour ,what a shame that meant we had to have Breadtalk and Black Canyon coffee fix for lunch ;-)
We left discovery and waded our way up to the Barong as Kartika Plaza was flooded all the way to Matahari . Got to the Barong and had requested room on ground floor and was given room on the third floor with the usual sorry room not available lol, wait till 7 and we got room we wanted . A quick dip in the pool and a few drinks at the pool bar . Went to Warung 96 for dinner same quality of food and service .
Monday :
We went down to the art markets and saw our friend Ida (shop 43) and bought all clothes for the week as we didn't bring any , three hours a few bintangs and lots of laughs later we filled a size 4 bali bag from all the stalls around us . Gee got to love Bali shopping . After a nanna nap we went up to the Foo-kin pub to pay our deposit for the pub crawl , wandered back eating in different places cant remember the names but all of it was nice.
Tuesday:
Went down to Janako tailors to get work shorts made , they charged the same price as last time but had better fabric this time . Went to Rainbow cafe for lunch and was greeted like long lost family lol took forever to eat food as we were tooo busy watching the sights and talking to the guys with transport .Back to to Barong for a few drinks and a swim . Caught a taxi down to Daddy's Cafe for dinner to see Putu (with long hair) , a few rocket fuels later we found ourselves at Mr Dolphins ready to get my new tattoo lol . I can't recommend him enough, very clean and he gave me the packet of needles to open to prove they were new . Wandered back and had a few drinks at the pool bar .
Wendesday:
We walked down to the markets near bemo corner an got our umbal umbal flags and went to the sports shop across the road to get basketball clothes for the boys. Went back to the Barong for lunch and a swim then a group of us went to Hulu Cafe to watch the drag show , what a great night out I don't think I have ever laughed so much . We ended up staying and watching both shows and then talking to the boys/girls? after .
Thursday:
Got up early and had a big breakky , went to Janako and got my shorts perfect fit and they replaced the zip in one of the pairs I took over to get copied and were very sorry that they had to charge me 10 thousand for that lol .Went dvd shopping across the road and got the kids most of what was on their list . Back to the Barong for nanna nap . We went on the pub crawl tonight and it was the best night out , it was pelting down with rain and we had to run from bar to bar as the traffic was horrible . We ended up at the Bounty nightclub and discovered just how lethal those jamjars are lol.
Friday:
We got up and decided that breakky wasn't a good idea ( actually tried to get up for breakky 3 times)slept till lunchtime still felt horrible . We spent the rest of the day saying goodbye to all our friends as we going home tomorrow :-( We went to Indo National for dinner Kerry and Milton very sympathetic for our hang overs lol .
Saturday:
Up early to pack and say goodbye to everyone again ,at the airport by 10:30 so sad ,I think every time we go to Bali it gets harder to leave . Arrived home on time and now counting down the days til we can go back again (117 days to go ).
