That is an excellent question, and, call me dumb, stupid, naive...whatever; but I have to admit that in all the years I have travelled to Bali and used "transport, transport", the potential fall out of an accident has never entered my mind. In fact I have absolutley no idea how the road accident support system works in Bali...how many people would? I guess I have (wrongly) assumed that third-party protection exists and that my travel insurance will look after me. After all, how are we to verify that the driver is licensed and/or that he has sufficient insurance cover? If he shows us what appears to be a licence how are we to establish its authenticity? If he tells us he is insured, how are we to verify the fact? In the end I guess it's all about making a valued judgement based on simple things such the condition of the vehicle...perhaps that's another reason why so many of us use the same driver each time. Time for a bit more investigatioin I suspect. As I said MaliBali...good point!
