there are some great places to shop and eat all close by.
Restaurants first....
Yutz and The Flying Piano in Rum Jungle Rd also the Sawadeha Thai and then for breakkie or lunch try Tommy's up further towards Legian St.
On Padma Utara heading towards Kuta you will find La Monde above the Loji Supermarket or across the road ther is Legian Snacks and Warung Yogya.Just past the Melasti Beach there is also Bamboo Corner.
Out on the beach front and heading towards Seminyak you will find Seaside and Zanzibar which are both excellent.
All these places we have eaten at and enjoyed very much...dont always be put off ny the look of a place ( like Legian Snacks and Warung Yogya ).
Another lovely little place I almost forgot is the Coffee Shop underneath the Melati beach Apartments
Shopping........
Many places along Padma Utara and Rum Jungle Rd are good. There are several Silver wholesalers including Solomon and Bintang Silver which I found especially good. For beads try Alma Enterprises on the dog leg corner near Ricky's bar.
IN Jalan 66 ther are also lots of litle boutique shops and many sarong shops etc. Also the Coconut Shop is worth a look for lamps etc.
The Bintang Supermarket in SEminyak is good shopping for supplies but then you can buy most things just about anywhere too.
I hope this helps, feel free to ask any more questions. Oh there is a Bank in Rum Jungle RD a long way up toiwards Legian St but it is very good as far as rates offered and of course honest as well !!
