My wife and I stay at the Bounty and have done so every year since 2000. I can't compare this hotel with another hotel but suffice to say that we love it so much that if we stayed elsewhere and were disappointed then we would kick ourselves for not staying at the Bounty. Anyway, the rooms are basic but comfortable. The beds are king size doubles and the rooms have a small bathroom with a toilet and shower. If you do not like stairs then request a ground floor room. The stairs can be quite steep ( especially after a few Bintangs!! ) The advantage of an upstairs room is that you have a balcony. Ask for a room that is not adjoined to another room. Some rooms have a secured internal wooden door between them but I find it is like paper thin and the noise from the adjoining room can be loud. Don't be afraid to ask for a room change if the air conditioner isn't cold enough or if you have noisy neighbours. This is a youngish catering hotel and I appreciate that people are on holidays to have fun, so if they want to stay up all night drinking and carrying on, no problem, but I have changed rooms on the odd occasion because of this. The fridge is stocked and at the end of your holiday the contents will be examined and used items billed to your account. Having said that, there is plenty of room to put your own drinks etc in as well. Breakfast is an all you can eat buffet, great food. Room service is excellent and well priced. As any hotel though, if you drink all day and eat all day in the hotel then you will end up paying considerably more than eating and drinking outside the hotel. This is because of the plus plus tax you pay in the hotel on all food and drinks. Security boxes are located in the foyer and are safe and secure. We take cash and put it in the box for safe keeping and have never had a problem. A Kodak shop is out the front door to the hotel, a little left and across the road for cashing money. We like the Bounty becasue it's a five minute walk to the beach, a five minute walk to Legian Street, you're right in the centre of kuta so all the good restaurants, shops, leather places, DVD shops, pubs etc are close by. The hotel is clean and the food is great. The choice of two pools allows for a partier atmosphere at the front pool or relax in the quieter back pool. Hope this helps. Let me know if you have any more quieries. Ray.
