The first time I went to Bali was 1984. I couldnt believe how cheap it was. $900 inc. for 14.5 nights at the old Kartika Plaza- bungalows scattered through the grounds & a small tired pool. No breakfast. Exchange rate was about 900rp for 1aud.
Twenty+ years later airfare $654 inc. tax + accomodation for 28 nights $392 inc brekky - Total $1046
Wages have just about tripled in that time for us Aussies so we are the winners.
Bali is so special to me. The joy it brings every time I step off the plane knowing that I am back in paradise with some of the most beautiful people that have ever walked this earth is worth a million dollars.
