We visited an orphanage last year. Find Carry for Kids website and they have all the details you need to decide which orphanage to visit. We chose one that was out of the way and hard to find in denpasar as it was not visited very frequently. The contact organised a pick up and driver to the orphanage. On the way we went to a supermarket in Denpasar and bought rice, watermelons exercise books, pens, ball and lollies and bubble makers for all the kids. Old toys and clothes arent wanted. Make sure you know how many kids you will be visiting so no one misses out. Also the orphanage we visited was a muslim orphanage so if you want to stick to a balinese orphanage check out the names of the directors. The day was priceless and the happy faces made our visit very worthwhile. 3 of us went and only spent about $25 each but managed to buy heaps. Good Luck and take some baby wipes to wash up on your way home! Everyone wants to kiss and hold hands with you!
