I have to disagree here although I get your point.
I don't think it's a sightseeing buff here for any of us. Ones that sponsor a child are delighted to be able to see what they are learning and whats going on with what they contribute to.
I also think that we need to be able to experience how they learn and live should we want to....and not all want to.
Don't get me wrong, I don't want anything out of what I pay for but it would delight me to be able to see first hand and also for that matter I believe it delights the children.
LynneeD recently posted on how the memory of these visits stay with the children and my sponsor child managed to be able to reply to one of the two emails I was allowed and she said she can't wait to show us the school,The Learning centre and meet her friends, she wants them to know who we are.
I agree with Lynne, this memory without actually taking anything with us (though I might pull out the odd map of the world or book)would be wonderful for them and i don't believe it would be wasting their learning time.
Kids all over, even here enjoy a "break" from work and who said it had to be a long visit.
Just my thoughts and I am very much looking forward to seeing what goes on.
