As a first-timer though you may want something closer to the action. It depends what you are looking for. If it is peace and tranquility you are after then Sanur Beach Villas are great.
We pretty much had the place to ourselves as many of the villas are let to long-term occupants who (unlike us tourists) don't want to spend half the day laying around the pool sipping Bintangs.
