I don't see a problem with tattoos as we age. When we are in our 70s and 80s we won't be the same people as our grandparents were. We'll still be ourselves, just with the birthday suit needing a bit more ironing.
I have one small tattoo. I only got it last year as a present to myself on my 34th birthday. I've wanted one since I was 16 and always held off wondering if I'd regret it later. 18 years later I still wanted the same thing - a cute baby dragon - so I figured what the hey, and I got it done. I can't see any big deal about it. My brother got one done when he was 18 and he still loves the design. My dad even got one done for the first time last year and he's mid-50's.
I'm considering getting a second one done when I go back to Bali this year. I'll see how the spending money goes. :)
