Hi Bernie,

Can't email you from your post. Email me by clicking on name on this email and I'll email you from there.

We were in room 505 right near reception etc. This was good for us. The chalets are all over the resort. The downstairs one's have a lovely bathroom and a courtyard. The upstairs one's have a balcony and the bathroom is different - doesn't have the sort of outdoor bit.

Breakfast is lovely at both the Taman Ayun restaurant where the buffet is in the morning, but our favourite was Bella Rosa the Italian restaurant above the club rooms. It overlooks the beach and is stunning in the morning. You can sit inside or outside. Outside has 2 areas - on the deck overlooking the beach and another outdoor area under a thatched roof looking over the gardens and fountain which is good if it's raining.

Breakfast at Bella Rose is a la carte with a small buffet selection. The banana pancakes with orange butter and maple syrup are amazing, the corned beef hash is lovely, however the omlette with creamed mushrooms is a must! We always started with a bowl of fresh fruit with bircher museli - yummy. There's also a big variety of breads and pastries - I loved the dutch/german bread made of dark rye and oats etc whose name escapes me right now. They also had lots of fruit compotes, fresh fruit, cereal, nuts, salads, cold meats, cheeses etc.

Breakfast in the Taman Ayun was a massive buffet with changes daily so it never got boring. Noodles, 2 types of sausages, bali bacon, omelettes, poached eggs, fried eggs, scrambled eggs (flavour changed every day), fruit compotes, yummy sago thingys called galing guling or something, mushrooms in butter, baked beans, soups, rice, hash browns, fried potatoes, variety of breads, pastries, cakes, conserves, cheese, cold meat, yoghurt, bircher museli, balinese rice porridge with accompaniments, fruit salad, fresh fruit, fruit juices, honey soy chicken, canadian ham, waffles, pancackes etc

You can also get breakfast via room service - but it's so much better to eat in the restaurant. I loved to people watch in the big restaurant - you can tell each nationality from what they eat and how they eat.

If you're there on a Friday night try the all you can eat Japanese Buffet as it is the best Japanese food I've had for ages. It you're at the Padma for 7 nights or more you'll get a free voucher for 2 to eat at one of their dinners. Each night they have a different one. The Rijstaffel is also good.

Cocktails in the susnet bar upstairs from the Club Rooms are lovely - all free from 5 - 7pm. You watch the sun set over the beach - sheer bliss. Afternoon tea is served from 3 - 5pm and is lovely, heaps of cheese and biscuits, cakes etc. I can't believe we managed to eat in between these times - shows what gannets we were! You can also have drinks (non alcoholic) all day from 10am to 11pm, use the internet, eat nuts, chips, biscuits etc. They have a small library and daily papers.

I've waffled on so much, there's probably no need to email - but go ahead if you want to know more!

Cheers,

Andrea
