- out of sight (use a flesh coloured neck wallet or something) and just keep some small notes and travellers cheques in your wallet. If you've got nothing you shouldn't have then be demanding but dignified. Demand to see their superior and demand to lodge a complaint. Write down any identifying numbers or names or a description. Call their bluff.
If you've got an excess of alcohol or something then, again, be dignified as you pay up.
It's a game they play.
