Hi Dennis...I believe it's somewhere between 32 - 34 inches (depending on which aircraft you are flying in - for example the new airbus offers 37 inches in premium economy (I don't think they are flying those on the Oz-Singa route). Biz is around 58 inches. The other aspect about seating that is often overlooked is the width. For example, sit in row 1 in Virgin Blue and the solid sided seats will make you feel like you are 15 kilos heavier than you are! Move back to mid plane exit rows and the difference in room and comfort is astonishing. If you go to the Singapore airlines site and email them, they will get back to you with the picth and width details of economy seating in the Economy cabin. Cheers - kevin
