You may have problems getting on to plane, but with doctors letter should be Ok perhaps? We use the plastic things that you break the little disc in and they become hot (for the life of me can't think what they are called)
The only problem is once used you have to boil them to change the composition so they will do it again.
In an effort to find their name I typed travel heating pads into the search engine and wow..so many options, heaps with rechargable batteries. Perhas try that?
